CEO/President
Jennifer Jones has transformed Scrap Central from a small family business into a large scale operation that’s modernizing metal recycling in the Midwest. Her Environmental Studies degree from UNL shaped her innovative vision of transforming the traditional scrap yard model into a sophisticated recycling operation. This vision led to relocating the company to a state-of-the-art 7-acre all-concrete facility in 2014, expanding from 7 employees to over 30 while establishing one of the region’s premier wire processing operations.
With 22 years of industry experience, Jennifer combines hands-on expertise—from forklift operation to material hedging—with strategic leadership. Under her commitment to “Recycling Made Easy,” Scrap Central provides comprehensive metal recycling services to the general public, commercial and industrial businesses. Featured in the Omaha World-Herald and named in Midlands Business Journal’s Top 40 Under 40. Most recently, she was highlighted in the Davis Index’s Women Leaders in Recycling Series for her innovative approach to the industry.
Jennifer believes in the power of collaboration to advance recycling awareness and accessibility. Under her leadership, initiatives like the “Go Green Holiday Light Drive” have diverted over 117,000 lbs of holiday lights and raised more than $50,000 for community partners.
Looking ahead, Jennifer remains focused on expanding Scrap Central’s impact through technological innovation and strategic partnerships, while championing sustainability and advancing the evolution of the metal recycling industry for future generations.
